A Mária evangéliuma című rockopera ősbemutatója 1991-ben a Madách Színházban volt, s még ugyanabban az évben a Szegedi Szabadtéri Játékokon is színre került. A művet bemutatták Szlovákiában, Svájcban, Németországban, Ausztriában, Olaszországban. Bemutatták számos magyarországi helyszínen, köztük Pannonhalmán a pápa látogatása tiszteletére.
A színpadra írt - itthon és külföldön több mint ötszáz előadást megért - mű oratórikus előadásá-nak különlegessége, hogy János szerepét Tolcsvay László énekli.
