A Kossuth-díjas Berecz András úgy tartja, hogy a mesemondó hivatása új életet lehelni a régi mesékbe, hogy a ma embere is értse meg az öregek nyelvét, a maga boldogulására használja a régiek bölcsességét, becsülje a rá hagyott örökséget.
„Életem különféle vargabetűi, hajtűkanyarszerű fordulatai után, melyek során rakodó segédmunkás, erdőművelő, útkarbantartó is voltam, hajszolt embertársaim örömét keresgélő énekes, mesemondó lettem. Kedves dalaim és meséim a honát kereső és a nagyon szerelmes ember hallomásai, látomásai.” (Berecz András)

For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
