Az Édes Alkony szanatóriumban Szepi az ország egyik legnagyobb színésze éppen a rehabilitációját tölti, ahol Kátya nővér mindent megtesz azért, hogy jó kedvre derítse a bálványát. Hirtelen felbukkan a legjobb barátja az ország második „első legjobb színésze” Pajor Vilmos egy fiatal ledér hölgy társaságában. A két idősödő művész találkozása megeleveníti a régmúlt szép emlékeit, de hirtelen megérkezik Vili felesége egy meglepetéssel. Az eseményeket tetézi egy besurranó életveszélyes gyilkos.
