Az Akadémia bérlet kettős fókuszában a kamarazene és a zongora áll. Mendelssohn nevezetes oktettje, Sosztakovics rendkívül drámai 8. vonósnégyese és Michael Haydn – sokáig híres testvérbátyjának tulajdonított – vonóskvintettje kamarazenekari előadásban csendül fel. A zongoraversenyek előadására a Budapesti Vonósok a legkiválóbb művészeket hívta meg, Ránki Dezsőt, Balázs Jánost és Fejérvári Zoltánt. Ők hárman a billentyűs versenyművek meghatározó korszakaiból, a barokkból, a bécsi klasszikából, a romantikából és a 20. századi modernizmusból választottak darabokat. Ránki Dezső műsorán két Mozart-concerto is helyet kapott, a B-dúr koncertről maga Mozart írta egy levelében, hogy igencsak megizzasztja a szólistát. Ezt napjaink előadói sem cáfolnák meg. Ilyen nehézségű darabot Mozart később nem is írt.
