A Debrecenben korábbi felkérései alapján házi szerzőnek számító Csemiczky Miklós most megszólaló nagyzenekari darabja a 2008-as Mahler Ünnep megrendelésére született. Bemutatója a Budapesti Fesztiválzenekar előadásában. Fischer Iván vezényletével zajlott le. A Scherzo all'ongarese, azaz „scherzo magyar módra” nyelvezetét nemcsak a magyar jelleg határozza meg, hanem a XX. század mesterei (Kodály, Sosztakovics, Mahler) által inspirált színes harmóniai és zenekari hangzásvilág is.
Camille Saint-Saëns 1886-ban monumentális művel, a III. szimfóniával emlékezett meg a példaképének tekintett Liszt Ferenc haláláról. A több mint félóra időtartamú kéttételes szimfónia előadói apparátusának különlegessége a zongora négykezes és az orgona zenekari használata. A szerző alapvetően a Liszttől elsajátított tematikus építkezést alkalmazza a kompozícióban, kihasználva a nagyzenekar nyújtotta gazdag hangzási lehetőségeket.
