Az újszegedi évad nagy durranása A tanú c. kultuszfilm színpadi változata lesz, melyet saját bemutatóként jegyez majd a fesztivál. Bacsó Péter filmjéből Hamvai Kornél készített színpadi változatot, melyet pár éve mutatott be a Thália Színház. A szatírát Újszegeden augusztus 12-én és 13-án láthatják a nézők, Böhm György rendezésében.
A szereposztásra az elkövetkezendő hónapokban derül fény, ám az már biztos, hogy ahogyan a Dóm téri produkciók esetében, úgy itt, a ligetben is arra törekszik az igazgatóság, hogy népszerű színművészeket nyerjenek meg a legendás szerepekre. Pelikán József gátőr, Virág elvtárs és Bástya elvtárs megformálására neves budapesti művészeket kértek fel.

For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
