A zenetörténet egyik legjelentősebb alkotása, amelyet Johann Sebastian Bach valójában sohasem tervezett megírni. Különös, hogy a protestáns zeneszerző egyetlen teljes latin nyelvű misét komponált – a feltételezések szerint megrendelésre. Bach nem írt operát, azonban oratorikus alkotásaiban a színpadi dramaturgia érezhetően jelen van, ahogyan ebben a latin misében is. A kompozícióban találkozhatunk az emberi lét sorfordulóival, életünk megsemmisítő és mennybe emelő pillanataival, amelyekből elképesztő drámai ívet hoz létre a szerző.
Bach időtlen remekművét a BDZ mellett a kiváló szólisták, a Budapesti Akadémiai Kórustársaság és a Nyíregyházi Cantemus Vegyeskar előadása teszi emlékezetessé.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
János Hunyadi is responsible for the tolling of bells around the world; Mátyás Hunyadi is the hero of a string of folk tales; László Hunyadi inspired “only” an opera.
