Van egy család; illetve kettő; illetve egy sem. Az első család: a pátriárka és a három fia, meg a pártában maradt nagybácsi. Anya sehol. Volt, de eltűnt, és csak remélni merhetjük, hogy a kegyes végelgyengülés vitte el. A másik család: a három fiú közül a legidősebb, akinek sikerült kitörnie a szülői ház, a kelet-londoni proli-lét sivárságából, Amerikába ment, ahol tudományos karriert csinált, meg három gyereket (fiú mind) és most fiatal feleségével váratlanul hazatér, hogy körülnézzen a múltjában. A gyerekeket otthon hagyták. A családi találkozó természetesen nem úgy sül el, ahogy várták – soha semmi sem sül el úgy – sőt, minden tökéletes zűrzavarba torkollik. Hacsak nem (kacsint ki Pinter a sorai közül) ez a tökéletes zűrzavar volt az, amire egész idő alatt vártak, reménytől dobogó szívvel és rettegéstől izzó aggyal: vagy épp fordítva…

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Bartók Béla’s two highly influential stage works explore the dynamics of the relationship between man and woman and the deeper layers of their personalities, as presented by creators who, through a fusion of tradition and innovation, reveal the possibilities inherent in these works for 21st-century audiences.
The series launched in the 2025/26 season focuses on composers whose operas receive special attention during the season. Yet there are many singers who do not find a role in the works of these masters, but who would gladly sing from their rich vocal palettes.
