Az 5 ezer éves hárfa története az ókorban indult és a középkor sokszínűsége után, ahol a hárfák számos fajtája létezett, az 1700-as évektől a pedálos hárfák megépítésével fokozatosan letisztult a hangszer forma- és hangzásvilága. A párizsi arisztokrácia hárfadivatjából európai divat lett az 1789-es forradalom után. A polgári családok szobáiba is bevonult a hangszer és lassan kialakult a professzionális hárfázás.
A hangszergyártók is éles versenyben voltak egymással. 1810-ben Sebastian Erard megépítette a duplapedálos hárfáját, melyet a mai napig használunk kisebb fejlesztésekkel, gyakorlatilag változatlanul.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
