Fráter Erzsébetet is mélyről fakadó szenvedélyek mozgatják, Madáchot is, aki beleszeret, rajongás, szerelem, büszkeség és szenvedély hatja át. Boldogságuk mégsem lehet felhőtlen, nemcsak azért mert Fráter Erzsébetben több a szenvedély, a romantika utáni vágy, mintsem belenyugodna abba, hogy Sztregován töltse el az életét. Megnehezíti együttlétüket Majthényi Anna, Madách édesanyja, aki viszont következetes gazdasszony, háziasszony és anya egy személyben. A mű végigkíséri Madách életét és Fráter Erzsébet szenvedélyes és romantikus villódzó szerelmét és végül megérthetjük, hogy született meg Madách Az ember tragédiájának Évája. (Beke Sándor, rendező)

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
