Magyar virtus vidéki dzsentri módra. Dáridók, anekdoták, népdalok, heccek, sose halunk meg. Szakhmáry Zoltán birtokos bevetné a magyar ugart, de egyedül kevés egy teljes társadalmi renddel szembefordulni. Mi marad hát? Természetesen a nők. Könnyű őket hibáztatni a kudarcokért. De ez sem számít igazán, a dzsentrivilág boldogan járja tovább haláltáncát.
Horváth Csaba rendezésében, amelynek kiindulópontjául Móricz 1927-es regénye szolgál, a szöveg mellett erős hangsúlyt kapnak a fizikai színház eszközei.

Our offer
While the Fountain of Tears bubbles before him, Giray, khan of the Tatars, is lost in brooding. Just as the flow from the marble fount cannot be exhausted, his own sorrow will never diminish, either. The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
