Egymás után jöttek a zenei és szöveg témák: hogy mi lenne, ha egy anya várná a fiát a Nyugati pályaudvaron; aztán egy történész elemezné a kora 21. századot; majd jönne valaki, aki rájönne arra, hogy ha ő gondolkodik, akkor nincsen. Másvalaki – egy nő – leostobázná a férfiakat, és tudná a receptet, mitől bolondulnak meg a nők; újabb valaki szerelmet vallana a Bizonytalanságnak; egy megint másik eldalolná tizenegynéhány sorban az egész életét; majd fel kéne mutatnia Shakespeare nagyon gyatra önazonosságának kórlapját, ráadásul azt is, hogyan sajátítja ki kegyetlenül egymást a nő meg a férfi; stb... Saját, minden saját ezen a lemezen, ezért az a címe, hogy Majdnem valaki.” (Bereményi Géza)

A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount.
