Toldi
Arany János már a saját korában is több generáció számára lebilincselő olvasmánynak szánta a Toldit. Most Horváth Csaba lélegzetelállító koreográfiája teszi ugyanezt.

Arany János: Toldi
Miközben a színpadon elhangzik a mű az első szótól az utolsóig, a műben foglalt kalandok, akciók és hangulatok maguk is megelevenednek. A malomkő, a farkaskaland, az üldözés, a pesti utcák, a bika, a cseh vitéz, a nagyvárosba tévedt parasztgyerek hontalansága, a gyermekeit vesztett anya fájdalma, Toldi György ármánya, a magyar király nemes alakja… mindez megidéződik szóban és mozgásban – a mai kor komplex ábrázolásában, feledhetetlen rendezésben – szűk két órában.

Péter Tóth - Anna Mechler Beauty and the Beast Fairy tale opera in Hungarian with Hungarian and English surtitle
“I've captured a terrific storm of elements and of hearts which gradually calms to Brünnhilde's magic sleep,” Wagner on the score of Die Walküre, in a letter to Ferenc Liszt. Following on the heels of the introductory Das Rheingold, this opera about the tragic love between two of Wotan's children constitutes the start of the more tightly drawn dramatic trilogy. Once again, the laws of the gods clash: can paternal love save a lad who has violated the sanctity of marriage?
János Hunyadi is responsible for the tolling of bells around the world; Mátyás Hunyadi is the hero of a string of folk tales; László Hunyadi inspired “only” an opera.
