Bernard Shaw, a drámaíró-fenegyerek negyven éven át, 1899-től 1939-ig levelezett az ünnepelt színésznővel, Stella P. Campbell-lel, aki a Pygmalion ősbemutatóján Elizát játszotta. Kettejük levelezését dolgozta föl Jerome Kilty amerikai színész ebben a közkedvelt kétszemélyes „levéldrámában". Shaw és Stella sohasem lettek szeretők, talán nem is akarták, talán elmulasztották a pillanatot. Akkor mi ez a különös, negyven éven át tartó viszony? Plátói szerelem? Barátság? Véd- és dacszövetség? A művet magyarul is többször előadták „Kedves Hazug" címmel, most Nádasdy Ádám új fordításában kerül színre.
