A Szent Efrém Férfikar 2002-ben alakult meg és az utóbbi években Magyarország legnépszerűbb vokális együttesévé vált. Alapítója és művészeti vezetője a Liszt-díjas Bubnó Tamás, Magyarország érdemes művésze.

Az együttes névadójáról, Szír Szent Efrémről (306-373) – akit már kortársai a „Szentlélek hárfája" megtisztelő címmel illettek – feljegyezték, hogy énekei, himnuszai sok embert vezettek vissza az „igaz útra". A Magyar Örökség és Budapest Márka díjas Szent Efrém Férfikar célja és küldetése három pilléren nyugszik: egyrészt a bizánci rítusú keresztény világ vokális örökségének kutatása és bemutatása, másrészt a magyar férfikari hagyomány (Liszt, Bartók, Kodály, Ligeti) ápolása, harmadrészt pedig a vokális kortárszene népszerűsítése.

Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.
