A Grimm testvérek e kevésbé ismert meséje egy fordított világban játszódik: egy országban, ahol mindenkinek egy, három vagy öt szeme van. Egy országban, ahol a két szemmel született Erzsikére ferde szemmel néznek. Hisz olyan furcsa, idegen, ijesztő. A különleges, vicces Hamupipőke-történetben a kiközösített, cselédsorban tartott kétszemű kislány jó szíve és bátorsága végül győzedelmeskedik, sőt még a párját is megtalálja. Mi, nézők pedig talán megtanulunk más szemmel nézni azokra, akik nem olyanok, mint mi vagyunk.
