Mikszáth Kálmán szavaival élve, a Szaffi egy ”Fantasztikus, szertelen mese”. Egy olyan szerelmes mese, mely a kincskeresésről szól. A talmi, és a valódi értékek megtalálásáról és ezek felismeréséről, egy csipet varázslattal, egy maréknyi humorral és nem kevés érzelemmel fűszerezve.
Jókai Mór műve, a mai közönség számára leginkább Dargay Attila és Romhányi József örökifjú rajzfilmjeként vált ismerté, mely rabul ejti mind a gyerekek, mind a gyermek lelkű felnőttek képzeletét. A mostani produkció, egy újszerű megközelítésben kívánja megjeleníteni a történetet: a tánc varázsán keresztül.
