Szabó Magda így írja le a mű születésének előzményét: Anyámat 1967-ben vesztettem el, azt hittem, sose lesz belőlem ép ember a temetése után. Hogy valahogy talpra álltam, férjemnek köszönöm, aki azzal a szelíd mondattal idézett vissza reális életünkbe: Rajtad mindig a munka segített, miért nem élsz a magad gyógyszerével?” A lebilincselő történetben nem csupán a tündér-édesanya elevenedik meg, hanem a merev és eltökélt nagymamák, a bohém dzsentri nagypapa, a tudálékos nagynénik és a korabeli kálvinista Róma többi jellegzetes figurája is.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.

Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
