„Nagy idők nagy embereket kívánnak. Vannak szerény, fel nem ismert hősök, akiket nem dicsőít a történelem, mint Napóleont. Manapság, a prágai utcákon járva, találkozhattok egy ütött-kopott férfival, aki maga sem tudja, milyen jelentős szerepet játszott a mostani nagy idők történetében. Szerényen megy a dolga után, nem zaklat senkit, és őt sem zaklatják interjúért az újságírók. Ha megkérdeznétek, hogy hívják, egyszerűen és szerényen így felelne: Švejk vagyok...”
Ezekkel a szavakkal vezette be az 1923-ban elhunyt cseh író, Jaroslav Hašek a maga Švejk-történeteit.
Mikó István Jászai-díjas színművész a kocsma közegében Švejk bőrébe bújik, hogy a (színházi) törzsközönsége számára is felidézze a derék katona kalandjait.

A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
Bartók Béla’s two highly influential stage works explore the dynamics of the relationship between man and woman and the deeper layers of their personalities, as presented by creators who, through a fusion of tradition and innovation, reveal the possibilities inherent in these works for 21st-century audiences.
The World of Ballet Remembers a Hungarian Legend 2014 saw the sudden passing of the international ballet artist and ballet director Iván Nagy. After his retirement, he had returned to serve his country by working as head artistic consultant for the Hungarian State Opera.
