Süsü, a sárkány meggyógyítja ellenségét, ezért háromfejű apja kitagadja, testvérei kigúnyolják. A szegény egyfejű sárkány emberföldre kerül, de itt sincs nyugalma, mert kinézete miatt mindenki fél és retteg tőle, menekülnek előle, támadásra készülnek. Szerencséjére találkozik a Jó Királyfival, akinek az a hivatása, hogy mindenkin segít.
