„A Pulcinellában fedeztem fel a múltat, ez volt az én keresztségem, amelynek révén egész későbbi munkásságom lehetővé vált” – így emlékezett vissza Pergolesi-hommage-a, az 1920-as Pulcinella jelentőségére Igor Stravinsky, s igazán nem túlzott, hiszen az eredetileg táncjáték zenéjéül íródott mű a múlt felé fokozott érdeklődéssel forduló neoklasszikus stílusirány egyik első nagy alkotása volt.

A romantika esztétikájával szembehelyezkedő hegedűkoncert felhangzása nyomában a késő romantika egyik legszebb szimfóniája, Antonin Dvořák 1885-ből származó VII. szimfóniája zárja majd a programot, melynek karmestere a mexikói Alondra de la Parra lesz. A dirigensi dobogón a női nemet képviselő 36 esztendős muzsikus 2017-től az ausztráliai Queensland Szimfonikus Zenekar igazgatójaként töri át az üvegplafont.
