A Szent István Király Zeneművészeti Szakgimnázium Fúvószenekara jubileumi koncertjén a mögöttük álló tíz év legsikeresebb műveit idézi meg. A hangversenyen Liszt, Saint-Saëns, Sibelius és Johan de Meij izgalmas, képszerű kompozíciói csendülnek fel – irodalmi, mitológiai vagy történelmi ihletésű művek, amelyek ugyan más-más korszakokban keletkeztek, de mind programot rejtenek. A fiatal muzsikusok sodró lendülettel és professzionális megszólalással keltik életre a fúvósrepertoár legizgalmasabb darabjait Makovecz Pál vezényletével.

A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.

Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
