Két bécsi szimfónia között egy szovjet-orosz versenymű: ezt az izgalmas szendvicset ígéri a koncert, melyen a hegedűsként és zongoristaként is aktív norvég karmester, Arvid Engegård vezényli a Concerto Budapest együttesét. Schubert befejezetlenségében is teljesnek ható h-moll szimfóniáját hagyományosan, bár vitatható módon a nyolcas sorszámmal szoktuk megjelölni, ám a számozásnál sokkal fontosabb a mű rejtelmessége, melankóliája, s persze roppant népszerűsége. Sosztakovics 1959-es I. csellóversenyét – akárcsak a másodikat – a zseniális jó barát, Misztyiszlav Rosztropovics számára komponálta, s ezen az estén a versenymű szólója egy Rosztropovicshoz mérhető nagy magyar csellista, a kétszeres Kossuth-díjas Perényi Miklós, a Nemzet Művésze vonója alá kerül. A négytételes csellóverseny megannyi ponton elénk hozza majd a komponista nevét rejtő DSCH motívumot. S végül Mozart No. 39-es Esz-dúr szimfóniája a zeneszerző utolsó három szimfóniájának egyike: derűs hangvétele, s az Esz-dúr hangnemhez kapcsolódó erő képzete mondhatni rácáfol arra az életrajzi adatra, mely szerint Mozart ezt a művét kölcsönzálogul ajánlotta fel megszorultságában.

Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package.
