Ruszt Józsefet színházrendezői és színházcsinálói pályafutása során kritikusai ily módon jellemezték, rámutatva arra a különösségre, amely mindig is meghatározta színházi működését majd 45 éves rendezői pályafutása során.
Írói ambíciók fűtik pályája kezdetén a színházzal szemben, mégis színházteremtőként, színészpedagógusként, a társulati lét szükségességét valló, már a pályája elején európai színházi fesztiválokon sikereket arató rendezőként vonult be a Magyar Színháztörténetbe.
Ebben az évben lenne 75 éves.
Pályatársak, tanítványok, kollégáik emlékeznek a Mesterre, aki Goethe paradoxonjával tudta leginkább érzékeltetni a színház lényegét: „Az ember semmiképpen sem szabadulhat biztosabban a világtól, mint a művészet által… és semmiképpen sem kapcsolódhat hozzá szorosabban, mint a művészet által”

Our offer
As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.

The series launched in the 2025/26 season focuses on composers whose operas receive special attention during the season. Yet there are many singers who do not find a role in the works of these masters, but who would gladly sing from their rich vocal palettes. The piano afternoons and matinees are for them, about them, and inspired by them.
