Az amerikai zeneszerző-karmester legendás karnagyokkal és szólistákkal dolgozott a tengerentúlon, hagyománytisztelő, romantikus hangvételű művei mégis ritkán jutnak el hazánk koncerttermeibe. Ezúttal hatodik szimfóniája mellett egy dalciklusát is megismerhetik, a koncerten pedig ő maga szerette volna, ha hazánk legkiválóbb szólistái működnek közre – így esett a mester választása Horti Lilla énekesre és Baráti Kristóf hegedűművészre, akikkel méltó módon zárhatja a Danubia Zenekar az évad zeneakadémiai sorozatát.

The German bass began his career at the opera houses of Berlin. However, when Sir Georg Solti cast him in the role of Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, René Pape’s international career almost immediately continued on the stages of the world’s greatest houses including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Vienna State Opera, Bayreuth, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
