Rio de Janeiro csupa szín, csupa kaland, csupa lüktetés. Egyedül Azúr, az elkényeztetett házi papagáj gondolja úgy, hogy jobb a biztonság, a kaland felesleges, a repülés balesetveszélyes. Ám különös, és meghökkentően peches véletlenek sorozata úgy hozza, hogy kipottyan addig kényelmes életéből, és míg körülötte tombol a karnevál, ő kénytelen elfogadni azt, amit Rio adhat: izgalmat, kavarodást, sok új barátot, és előbb-utóbb a repülés örömét.
