A hatvanas években járunk, az angliai Brightonban. A kissé kótyagos Francis Henshall a véletlenek szerencsétlen összjátéka folytán egyszerre két munkát is szerez: alkalmazásába veszi egy piti gengszter és egy nagystílű bűnöző is. Francisnek ettől kezdve mindent meg kell tennie, nehogy két főnöke összetalálkozzon, vagy akár tudomást szerezzen egymásról. Közben talán nem is mindenki az, akinek kiadja magát, és ráadásul az összes szereplő elszántan azzal van elfoglalva, hogy szerelemre találjon... és szól a rock and roll! Carlo Goldoni klasszikus komédiájának, a Két úr szolgájának ez a közelmúltban készült angol átdolgozása az utóbbi évek egyik legzajosabb színpadi sikere volt Londonban és Anglia-szerte, de a Broadway-n is szenzációt keltett.
