A Halottak napja előestéjén az európai zene történetének egyik legcsodálatosabb remekműve, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart egyik utolsó kompozíciója, az 1791-ben készült Requiem csendül fel az Istvánffy-bérlet nyitóestjének műsorán. A latin gyászmise szövege évszázadok óta a zenetörténet legnagyobbjait ihlette alkotásra: a zeneszerző tragikusan korai halálával befejezetlenül maradt, rendszerint tanítványa, Süssmayr kiegészítésével előadott Requiem egyike a zeneértőkés zenerajongók által legtöbbre értékelt megzenésítéseknek. Előadásában neves énekművészek mellett a nemzetközi hírű Philharmonia Chor Wien csatlakozik a Győri Filharmonikus Zenekarhoz, az együttes szívesen látott vendégkarmestere, Martin Sieghart vezényletével.
