A latin gyászmise szövege évszázadok óta a zenetörténet legnagyobbjait ihlette alkotásra: a mester tragikusan korai halálával befejezetlenül maradt, rendszerint tanítványa, Süssmayr kiegészítésével előadott Requiem egyike a zeneértők és zenerajongók által legtöbbre értékelt megzenésítéseknek. A nagy mű előadásában neves énekes szólisták mellett egy világhírű kórus, a Philharmonia Chor Wien (karigazgató: Walter Zeh) csatlakozik a Győri Filharmonikus Zenekarhoz. Az Istvánffy-bérlet a Nagyboldogasszony-székesegyházban rendezett nyitókoncertjét Rajna Martin dirigálja.
