„Hát egy népdalt, azt csak tudsz, nem? Na azért.” Pontosabban azért, mert Kodály. Meg persze Bartók. Kimentek, gyűjtöttek, körmöltek, és rendszerbe szedtek: már csak így működött az agyuk, ilyen „poroszosan”. És milyen jó ez így, mert ez a rendszer túlélt számtalan másikat, két háborút, bombák és divatok robbanásait. És, csodák csodája, a mai ovisok is el tudják énekelni a „Hull a szilva”-t, vagy a „Tavaszi szél”-t. És ez eredmény, erre csak csettinteni lehet: valamit nagyon elkaptak akkor ezek a huszonéves suhancok. És az utolsó pillanatban… Köszönjük fiúk!

While the Fountain of Tears bubbles before him, Giray, khan of the Tatars, is lost in brooding. Just as the flow from the marble fount cannot be exhausted, his own sorrow will never diminish, either. The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
