A kedves, udvarias angol házaspár, Peter és Debbie egy hajóúton összebarátkozik egy amerikai özvegyasszonnyal, Elsával. A nyaralás végén megtörténik a kölcsönös címváltás, ígértetek a jövőbeli látogatásra, ami persze, többnyire elmarad... Ezúttal azonban nem... Elsa egy szép napon becsenget hozzájuk... Addigra azonban olyasmiket olvastak róla az interneten, hogy elfogja őket a jeges rémület – nem szívesen engedik be, főként két kamaszgyerekük közelébe. De megbántani se szeretnék. A fergeteges vígjátéki helyzetekbe még egy okoskodó szomszéd és egy rendőr-őrmester is belekavar... És most, közvetlenül a londoni West End-siker után a budapesti Játékszínbe is megérkezik a rém rendes vendég...
