A karácsonyi készülődésben, lótás-futásban, sürgés-forgásban jó néha megpihenni. Megpihenni és gondolatban, lélekben készülni az ünnepre. Lelkünket pedig mi is nyitná meg könnyebben, mint a mesék. Különösen, ha azok, lélektől lélekig ható fajtából valók.
A „Csodakalács” című népmese és Fekete István „Éjféli látogatók” című novellája épp ilyenek. Ezért mondjuk, meséljük, mutogatjuk, énekeljük, játsszuk el őket, megidézve rég volt Karácsonyokat.
Lehet, hogy ma már nem úgy ünnepelünk, mint „akkor”, s a gondjaink is mások, de a lényeg, a szeretet igénye, hiánya, parancsa ugyanaz maradt.
