A bensőséges és szent nyugalomba az idén megjelent Organ Meditation lemezről vett Bach idézetek vonnak bennünket, majd a művész ígérete szerint felcsendül Vivaldi, A Négy Évszak, melyből most a perzselő Nyár tétel a soros, allegorikusan mutatva az ember már érett korának örömeit és félelmeit, a megérdemelt munka gyümölcsét, és az egzisztenciális félelmet annak elvesztése kapcsán. Idén kerek évfordulós Rossini, így nem marad ki a műsorból az olasz opera legendás alakjának megidézése.

For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
