Talán soha nem volt még ekkora szükségünk rá, hogy a művészet felemeljen bennünket vissza oda, ahol korábbi életünket felfüggesztettük. Az elmúlt évben megtarthattunk mindent, ami az élethez kellett a vajat a hűtőben, vagy a meleget a házainkban. De elveszett a létezés lényege, az a tükör, amelyben az ember nem túlélő fogyasztó állatnak érzi magát, hanem az Istenek örökösének. A teremtés folytatójának. Ide tértünk vissza. Nem mondjuk ezt ki mindig amikor színházba, koncertre, vagy kiállításra megyünk, de mindannyian érezzük, ezért megyünk oda. Ezért azokkal a műalkotásokkal ünneplünk, amelyek minden hangja ezt az életörömöt sugározza. Strauss és Sosztakovics keringői, Ravel Bolerója, Vivaldi Négy Évszakának részletei mind ilyenek.
Már nagyon vártuk a személyes találkozót, hogy visszakapjuk az életünknek ezt a szeletét!

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
