Gyereknek lenni nem könnyű, bármilyen fából is faragták az embert. Pinokkiót történetesen egy diófa tuskóból, de ez a tény sem teszi kevéssé macerássá számára a cseperedés eseménydús időszakát. Így viszont a mese végére feketén-fehéren kiderül, hogy kiállja-e a próbákat: bátorsága legyőzi-e a veszélyeket, esze a gonosz cselszövést és szíve a jellemet megkísértő ármányt.
