A zenés színházi est tisztelgés a régi klasszikus kabaré, a pesti éjszakai szórakoztatás legendás előadói, szerzői előtt. „A pesti kabaré a szatíra. Az a cukrozott epe, hitetlenség és finom rosszmájúság öltött benne testet, amely minden pesti emberben bennlakozik, az az okosság teremtette meg, mely ennek a városnak egyik fontos jellemvonása.” – ír a magyar kabaréról Kosztolányi Dezső. Többek között Nagy Endre, Békeffi László, Kellér Dezső konferanszai, Molnár vagy Karinthy iróniája, Zerkovitz Béla, Szirmai Albert, Márkus Alfréd dalai, vagy épp Darvas Szilárd, Kazal László előadói bravúrjai segítettek több generációnak is túlélni viharos évtizedeket. Fanyarul összekacsintva a közönséggel mondták ki a kimondhatatlant, vagy tanítottak olvasni a sorok között. Meglátni a könnyben a viccet, a humorban a tragikumot. Nevetni a világon és önmagunkon még akkor is, ha semmi ok a jókedvre.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
