"Kérem, Kis úr, a házmester azt mondta, hogy elveszik magától a lakást. Én csak mondtam, hogy az nem lehet, mert Kis úr mindenkivel jóban van, ilyen embertől ugyan el nem veszik a lakást, de hát a házmester azt mondta, hogy Kis úr nincs jóba senkivel, mert Kis úr, magyarán mondva, egy részeg disznó, és nem csinál semmit, hanem várja a sült galambot."
Sarkadi Imre az ötvenes évek csodagyerekének számított, generációja egyik legtehetségesebb írója volt; vonzó, ugyanakkor végtelenül ellentmondásos személyiségét legendák övezik. Az 1960-ban írt Oszlopos Simeon című darabját Hegedüs Géza "irodalmunk egyik legnyomasztóbb és legriasztóbb remekművének" nevezte, és - főként amiatt, ahogy Sarkadi az illúzióvesztett értelmiség közérzeti válságát, vívódását, reményvesztettségét láttatja benne - ma is rendkívüli erővel hat. Több, mint ötven év távlatából ez az értelmiség-kép bizonyos mozzanataiban kifejezetten ironikus.

The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English.
