A húsvéti program is sok száz év bizánci rítusú zenei emlékeiből áll össze, egy 14. századi mester - akit Nikola, a szerb néven tart számon a bizánci zenetörténet – misztikus Kerub himnuszától mai kortárs szerzők: Sáry László, R. Twardowski, L. Dichko bizánci zenei világ ihlette műveiig, az egyetlen magyarországi görögkatolikus kottás kézirat, az ún. sajópálfalai irmologion (17.sz) dicsérő zsoltárától a nagy orosz zsenik: Glinka, Csajkovszkij, Csesznokov remekműveiig, valamint a Balkán és a Kárpát-medence vallásos népének-kincséig.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
The world-renowned American baritone, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday, sang in choirs and studied music from childhood. After winning several competitions, he was taken under the wing of the legendary coloratura soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, which helped launch his European career.
