Even backstage, the Opera House is a magical place. Participating children will get a glimpse into this mysterious world, which they will get to know, along with the hidden secrets of both the House and the art of opera performance, under the guidance of Papageno, the clucking bird-man from The Magic Flute. From the cellar decorated with portraits to the catwalks above the stage, and from the costume warehouse to the painters’ workshop, some big surprises await. And by the time the singing starts, every little secret will be revealed.
The programme will commence at 3pm on each date.

Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances.
