Notre Dame koncertek 2. - Trubadúrok
A Szent Efrém Férfikar négy egymást követő estéből álló koncertsorozata nem pusztán a Notre Dame katedrális zenéjéből, illetve a zenetörténetben Notre Dame stílusnak nevezett időszakból merít, hanem kompozíciós, illetve művelődéstörténeti párhuzamba állítja a későbbi, egészen a kortárs zenékig húzódó vonulatot, amelynek első jelensége volt a 12. századi „zenei forradalom”, amely sajátságos látásmódjával és zenei zsenialitásával kétségkívül kihatott az európai zenetörténet fejlődésére.

A régi korok nagy mesterei egyaránt járatosak voltak a szent zene és a profán muzsika művelésében, tőlük nagyszerű táncok, dalok, szerenádok csendülnek föl ezen az estén. De rajtuk kívül a populáris muzsika is zseniális alkotókat és előadókat vonultatott fel: a Notre Dame árnyékában, a gótikus katedrális falain kívül ezek az alkotások teszik teljessé Európa zenei térképét. Királyok, hercegek, mesterek, katonák, és „igazi” komponisták vallanak szerelmet az „örök szépségnek” ma este.

Our offer
As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
