A Neoton története évtizedekre nyúlik vissza.Az alapítók Pásztor László és Galácz Lajos a hatvanas évek közepén, a KÖZGÁZON hozták össze a zenekart. Az igazi siker 1979. ben a Napraforgó c. lemezzel adatott meg a zenekarnak. Attól kezdve a vokális popzenét játszó csapat sikert sikerre halmozott. Japánban tíz évig voltak jelen, számos aranylemezt tudhattak ott maguknak, a világ második legnagyobb lemezpiacán. Spanyolországban a Santa Maria, Don Quijote a slágerlisták sztája volt. 1983. Tókióban, a yamaha Fesztiválon Nagydíjat kaptak Time goes by c. Dalukért. Del Kóreában 1986 tól lemezeik jelentek meg, turnéztak ott, az 1988 as Olimpiai Játékok egyik kedvelt dalát Mándoki László és Csepregi Éva énekelte.
2016. december 29. 20:00-tól Balatonfüreden is végeláthatalanul sorjáznak majd a legnagyobb slágerek, az örökérvényű Neoton-dalok.

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
