A történet az Egyesült Államok egyik nyugati államában, a nyári aszály idején játszódik. Miben bízhat egy közép-amerikai farm a hetek óta tartó kánikula idején, mikor az aszály miatt pusztul a jószág? A csodában vagy az esőben. De az égen nyoma sincs még egy ici-pici felhőnek sem!
