Az előadás egy mocsárban játszódik, ahol egy sárkunyhóban elszigetelten élnek a Dindinnák, egy mocsárlény család. A családfő a mocsárszellem ősi jóslattól tartván tiltja az emberekkel való érintkezést. Ám a legkisebb fiúcska egy játék közben átlépi a tiltott sást, ahol találkozik az ember lányával Sumitával. Szép lassan megismerik egymást és összebarátkoznak. Az előadás végén bebizonyosodik, hogy a szeretet, a barátság és a bizalom, a pusztuló mocsarat is megmenti és a dühös, bizalmatlan Dindó papát, a mocsár-családfő lelkét is megpuhítja.
