Mikszáth Kálmán 1910-ben halt meg. Felesége, Mauks Ilona, 1922-ben publikálta emlékiratait. Ezek a tények. E színdarab szerzője azonban előre megfontolt aljas szándékkal hamisít, ami az évszámokat illeti. Nála akkor kezdi írni Mikszáthné az emlékiratait, amikor Mikszáth még él. Csak így születhetett olyan helyzet – a darab alapszituációja -, hogy miközben a hitves fogalmazgatja memoárjait, egyúttal meg is tárgyalja urával a leírtakat és tanácsokat kér. Mikszáth mindent dühödten korrigál, állandóan belebeszél felesége emlékirataiba. Közben újraélnek régi epizódokat, sőt elképzelnek jövendőbelieket is. Ahogy vitatkoznak a kétféleképpen rögződött emlékeken zsörtölődve kiigazítják egymást: a felidézett múlt kettős fénytörésében kibontakozik egy harmadik változat, a nézőé, aki a tények pedantériája helyett a tények költészetét kapja. A tények költészete pedig – a valóság.

For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
