Kodály Zoltán Háry Jánosa volt az első népzenei alapú hazai daljáték, amely épp ezért mérföldkő lett a magyar zenés színpad történetében. Hangjaiban életre kelt a magyarság régi, dicső „fényű” muzsikája, a verbunkos is.
A daljáték nyomán készült zenekari szvit gyorsan utat talált a hangversenytermekbe, itthon és külföldön egyaránt; tételsora híd a romantika és a modernség között. A megelőző század romantikus termését Rimszkij-Korszakov zenekari szvitje képviseli estünkön. A pompás színekben tobzódó hangszerelés fogalommá vált, a Seherezádé tengerábrázolásában az eredetileg tengerésztiszt orosz muzsikus személyes élményei is tükröződnek.

For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
