A Győri Filharmonikus Zenekar 17:18-as bérletének első koncertjét Mendelssohn a Szentivánéji álom varázslatos forgatagát festő 1826-ban keletkezett hangversenynyitánya indítja: a zseniális fiatalember e művével lépett– alig tizenhét évesen– az európai zene jelentős mestereinek sorába. A folytatásban az 1829-ben, Skóciában tett utazás során felvázolt, de csak 1842-ben befejezett és bemutatott, a vadregényes táj és a történelmi emlékek élményétől ihletett, magával ragadó 3. szimfónia csendül fel a hegedűsként is ragyogó karriert magáénak tudó lengyel karmester, Michael Maciaszczyk vezényletével. Az est házigazdája dr. Szabó Balázs zenetörténész.
