Bach számos műve a zeneszerzői virtus felfoghatatlan és utánozhatatlan példája. Ezek közé tartozik a Goldberg-variációk. A variációs műfaj az egyik legszabadabb műfaj a zenetörténetben, amely egy egyszerű zenei gondolatból kiindulva karakterek és érzelmek sokaságát képes felvonultatni. Bach műve sem más, csak hihetetlenül következetes logikával felépítve, és a többszólamúság zeneszerzői bravúrjával párosítva.
Az előadás különlegessége, hogy két német zeneszerző, Josef Rheinberger és Max Reger kétzongorás átiratában hangzik fel a mű, mely minden szempontból méltó az eredeti darabhoz, egyrészt a variáció szabadsága okán, másrészt pedig minden hang, ami megszólal – és nem Bachtól származik -, bizonyosan Bach megelégedésére szolgált volna.

There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
