Beethoven e művét régi barátjának és pártfogójának, Ferdinand von Waldstein grófnak ajánlotta. A kettejük barátsága még a bonni időkbe nyúlik vissza: Waldstein gróftól kapta a zeneszerző első zongoráját, de tőle kapott ösztönzést is az improvizációra, általa ismerte meg Haydn és Mozart műveit, amikor pedig Bécsbe költözött, Waldstein gróf ajánlotta be a művészetet pártoló főrangú körökhöz. Az este folyamán a művet Balog József zongoraművész tolmácsolásában hallhatjuk, aki zenei tanulmányait négyévesen kezdte, 2001-ben a Liszt Ferenc Zenemű- vészeti Egyetem Tanárképző Intézetében tanári diplomát szerzett, majd 2004-ben végzett az egyetem Zongora Tanszakán. Több nemzetközi verseny győztese, illetve díjazottja, számos rádió- és televízió-felvétel készült vele, többször adott koncertet külföldön. Kiemelkedő zenei előadóművészeti tevékenysége elismeréseként.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
