Hogy mi a közös Maude-ban és Haroldban? Első ránézésre semmi, hiszen Harold fiatal, búskomor arisztokrata férfi, Maude pedig, nos hát... Maude egy jelenség. Az egyetlen közös bennük, hogy mind a ketten imádnak temetésekre járni, éppen így találkoznak. A furcsa megismerkedéstől egy kalandos hét veszi kezdetét, autólopással, fókával, faültetéssel, tánccal, zenével, kis szerelemmel, és sok nevetéssel. Esztergályos Cecília remek humora varázslatossá teszi Maude-ot, akibe a végén mindenki szerelmes lesz, még Harold is, akit Lipták Péter alakít. A darab páratlan érzékenységgel mondja ki a nagy igazságot: az élet szép, csak szeretni kell, csak nevetni kell!
