„Ülök oly szilárdan trónomon, hogy hatalmam ne csorbítsa két pofon” – mondja Mátyás a döbbent főuraknak mosolyogva. Pofon ütötték a Budai Oroszlánt, és még hozzá névünnepi napján, mikor a magyari urak az új talján asszonnyal, Beatrix-el versengve kedvét keresik?! Kopját tör a tudós Bonfini Mátyás krónikájával és az udvari bolond a pórnép meséivel, melyik tudja jobban a király hős tetteit.

Mátyás megbolondult talán? Sipkát is cserélt bolondjával! Bolond-e ,vagy mégsem,az majd a végkifejletben kiderül, és közte még sok minden más,csalárd zendülés, arcmutogatás, szerelem, intrika, métely és megannyi udvari huncutság.

Our offer
For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.
